Democrats Devoted to Empowering New Mexico's Rural Communities

Empowering New Mexico's Rural Communities Together

The DPNM Rural Caucus is the dedicated voice for New Mexico’s vibrant communities outside the major metropolitan centers. We are a grassroots network that brings together a diverse coalition of individuals who share a common vision for a thriving, equitable, and sustainable rural New Mexico.

Who We Are

Our membership reflects the heart and soul of rural life. We are small business owners, farmers, and ranchers who steward the land and drive local economies. We are educators shaping the next generation, first responders safeguarding our communities, and skilled tradespeople, engineers, and creative artists who innovate and inspire. Our caucus also proudly includes retirees, college students, and families raising children at home—each bringing unique perspectives and experiences to the table.

Our Mission

At the DPNM Rural Caucus, we work to ensure that the voices of rural New Mexicans are heard at every level of government. We believe that every community, no matter its size, deserves access to quality education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunity. By fostering collaboration and advocating for policies that address the unique challenges faced by rural residents, we strive to make a lasting, positive impact.

Our Leadership

Our Executive Committee is composed of resourceful, passionate individuals who are deeply devoted to their communities. They are problem-solvers, innovators, and advocates, committed to finding creative solutions to the issues that matter most to rural New Mexicans. Through their leadership, the DPNM Rural Caucus is building a stronger future for all who call rural New Mexico home.

We work together to advocate for policies that improve farming, ranching, water and land rights, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic opportunity in our rural regions. Simply put, these priorities help us focus our efforts on what matters most to rural families and guide lawmakers to better understand and support our needs
